Required High School Paperwork
Our High School students are required to complete an annual transcript counseling session with an outside entity who has come along side Risen Star Academy to assist in the larger number of high school students. At this time, this information is being communicated to our High School families via e-mail. ***Consultation charges apply (approximately $75.00 per student per year, grades 9-12)***
Our families work hard to provide a quality education for their students and Risen Star Academy wants to make your student's work shine on College applications. Therefore, we require our high school parents keep a copy of their student's Curriculum List, as well as a copy of the student's Volunteer Hours, Awards and Activities for use in Transcript and Bright Futures preparation. Colleges may ask for a copy of the books the student has read, or even a resume', which would include the student's Awards and Activities in their enrollment application. It is to the family's advantage to keep a record of ALL of this documentation. Please see the forms section of this page for downloadable forms.
Risen Star Academy requires it's families to submit updated Transcripts and Bright Futures Worksheets EACH Year, in order to reduce the stress of Senior Transcript preparation for the family as well as our staff. Risen Star Academy will prepare a professional, official transcript, which it will submit to colleges for you. The parent can NOT submit a copy of the student's transcript to a college. Please read the below information, and take note of additional fees and deadlines during your high school years.

IMPORTANT
BRIGHT FUTURES INFORMATION If you think your student might be eligible for a Bright Futures scholarship, then our staff will need to know during the student's 9th grade year, or as soon as you know, so we can begin uploading information to the BF site. In order for the RSA Staff to be able to fill out Bright Futures Information, parents need to fill out a RSA Bright Futures (BF) Course Code on the Transcript and BF Worksheet (See Forms on this page) and submit it to the Administrator no later than October 1st for the previous year's school work. If submitted later, you will incur additional fees.
For Example: If you have a 10th Grade student, your BF Worksheet for their 9th Grade year will be due by October 1st of their 10th Grade school year. The Class Title and BF Course Code MUST match. You may view the Course Code Directory at http://www.fldoe.org/policy/articulation/ccd/2014-2015-course-directory.stml In addition, according to the BF information, the BF Class Title must be the same as the name of the course listed on the Transcript, in order for the student to be awarded a Bright Futures Scholarship. "Homespun Classes" with different names will not be considered for Bright Futures Scholarships, but only the courses which coincide with the Course Code Directory will be used for the BF Scholarship. Fees for Bright Futures (BF fees are in addition to transcript consultation fees, annual transcript consultation is required for all BF applicants) $35 - for each year if submitted by October 1st. There is a $35 fee EACH year to be paid to the Administrator to update the Bright Futures Online Forms. This is to be paid BEFORE the forms are updated and may be paid with the registration fee. A Late Fee of $35 will be assessed if you submit your Transcript/BF Worksheet after October 1 of the current school year for the previous year. - $150 RUSH Fee, in addition to the fees listed above, if BF Worksheet is submitted less than 1 Month prior to the date needed. |
